Most modern shoes raise the heel, subtly shifting your weight forward and altering posture over time.
A zero heel height keeps your foot level, allowing your joints, spine and muscles to stack naturally—the way body learned to balance long before footwear even existed.
This isn't correcting posture. This is not disturbing it in the first place.
Movement evolved on surfaces that were firm yet forgiving—forest floors, soil, and ground that absorbed force without collapsing under it.
WLA-1 avoids extremes. It isn’t overly soft, which dulls feedback and causes fatigue, nor overly hard, which transfers impact straight into the body.
The result is a stable, responsive feel that supports movement without fighting it—much like the ground once did.
During walking and running, the foot naturally bends at the forefoot during push-off. Many shoes restrict this motion, forcing the foot to work against the sole instead of with it.
Strategically placed flex grooves under the forefoot allow the shoe to move in sync with your foot—reducing resistance and making each step feel effortless rather than forced.
Each pair of Drift has been made and finished by hand, by the local craftspeople at our facility in Tamil Nadu. WLA-1 is our owned midsole composition, designed and developed in-house.
